Tennessee Target Is The Highest-Rated Uncommitted Player in the 2026 Class Rocky Top Insider

Tennessee running back target Savion Hiter is the highest-rated uncommitted prospect in Rivals’ new recruiting update.

A commitment from Hiter would go a long way in bumping the Vols up to a Top 10 class and giving Tennessee and head coach Josh Heupel an elite running back to build the offense around. Combine his talent with quarterback commit Faizon Brandon and you’ve got a scary outlook for the Vols’ offense in the coming years.

“Looks to be a natural runner,” Rivals’ Scouting Report on Hiter reads. “An extremely fluid and smooth mover who changes directions effortlessly. Shows excellent acceleration. Cuts on a dime and makes defenders miss in space. Runs with pace and instincts. A strong tackle-breaker who runs through contact due to a strong leg drive.”

Hiter took official visits to all four of his finalists this spring with Tennessee landing the final one on June 20. He’s a gifted natural athlete, shown not only on the gridiron but also through a successful career in track and field.

Tennessee’s 2026 class currently ranks 15th in Rivals’ team rankings with 21 commits. The Vols’ class is headlined by QB Faizon Brandon, linebacker Brayden Rouse, and linebacker TJ White, but a commitment from Hiter would go a long way in making this an elite class for Josh Heupel’s staff.

Tennessee is doing its best to land the blue-chip, five-star prospect, but only time will tell where Hiter decides to take his talents next season. We’ll just have to wait and see.

On July 3, Hiter announced on X that his commitment date would be “coming soon.”
